Toyota, Hyundai, Alfa Romeo among nearly 650K vehicles recalled. Check car recalls.

 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls for vehicles last week, including notices for nearly 400,000 Toyota vehicles.

Here's what you need to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12:

Toyota recalled certain vehicles as a software error may cause the rearview image not to display when the they are placed in reverse.

The recall covers certain 2022-2025 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles.

The error occurs after camera data processing becomes unsynchronized when the camera view is changed. The display can show a half green, full green or full black screen, according to the recall report.

Dealers are to update the multimedia display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are to be mailed Nov. 16.

An improperly installed B+ positive terminal covers on the starter motor assembly could come into contact with the cooling fan assembly in certain crash scenarios, according to the recall report. In those scenarios, the contact between the two parts could cause an electrical short.

Dealers are to inspect and reinstall the starter motor terminal cover for free. Owner notification letters are to be mailed Dec. 1.
